Monday! Monday! Monday! Blackbird Cases Go On Sale!

HP is not in the business of selling raw chassis, but when Maximum PC's Editor-in-Chief contacted me several months ago about using the Blackbird 002 chassis as the basis for their Dream Machine 2008, we quickly reconsidered our position.

Since Maximum PC magazine only selects Dream Machine components its readers can buy, we agreed to make 25 Blackbird chassis available for sale to the public starting on September 1st, which, in case you've been too engrossed in all the recent political hoopla to notice, is only three short days away!

Monday is a holiday in the US, but our sales people in Canada will be standing by.

Phones open at 8am Pacific.

Call us at 1-877-776-4752

Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions I've received since the September issue of Maximum PC hit newsstands:

  1. We're only selling 25 chassis and each one will be numbered
  2. The 25 chassis we'll be selling will be anodized black, not chromed
  3. Only one BB chassis per customer
  4. Cost: $999 (+ tax and shipping)
  5. Each chassis will come with one slim-slot DVD drive pre-installed, and for an additional cost you can add to your order an additional slim-slot drive and/or a power supply with long-lengh power cables
Have a great weekend everyone and good luck!

Can it be shipped outside of the US/Canada?

The honest answer is that I'm not sure. I'll try to get an answer posted here before Monday, but if I can't, the sales team will definitely know when you call them.

Hmmm, I suppose it doesn't have build in watercooling? :smileytongue:

Hehe. No. But it does come with our liquid-cooling fan chassis so that, if you want, you can more easily add a liquid cooler of your own later.
