HP Slate and Android Netbook

by Administrator January

HP Slate

I just touched down in Las Vegas for a little show called CES. In my few minutes here, I’ve already unintentionally overheard numerous discussions on slate form factors.

Those discussions are just about to go into high gear, as Steve Ballmer is showcasing an upcoming HP slate in his keynote…which is right about now.

I’m pumped that HP is again in a leadership position in delivering hardware and touch tech innovation. Check out the video below for a quick look, and take a look at these images. Tell me what you think. Want to get academic? HP CTO Phil McKinney discusses the evolution of the slate form factor here.

Interested in a heads up on some other interesting news? Qualcomm and HP will be working together on a prototype Snapdragon netbook with the Android OS. If you’re at the show, you can see it in action at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! tonight or ShowStoppers tomorrow. It will also make an appearance, along with HP’s Todd Bradley, in a keynote with Qualcomm’s CEO Friday.

Want the slate?  It will be available later this year. I had the opportunity to hold one for a few fleeting seconds, and I promise it’s worth the wait. The Android netbook is, for now, only a prototype.

Nice rip off of Apple's design of the iPhone

@Ken - Yeah, because a screen with a black border around it is so original. Only Apple could have come up with that.
