The future is on display at formnext 2016

If you’re planning to attend formnext then you’re probably aware that it has quickly become one of Europe’s premiere events focused on advanced manufacturing. It offers a forum for collaborative learning and showcases product innovation in 3D printing and other digital technologies that are already playing a significant role in the development and production of tangible goods.

Many of the world’s top manufacturers attend to learn more about cutting edge technologies that will likely impact their businesses. Powered by TCT, formnext provides attendees with a forum where they can see - first hand - how additive manufacturing and more conventional industrial technologies are being blended to form smarter, more efficient production systems.

This is one reason why HP is choosing formnext to show the public HP Jet Fusion 3D Printers in action for the very first time in Europe! You can reserve a meeting with HP or a seat for our limited-seating Theatre Session HERE.

Exhibitors include some of the world’s best known makers of industrial equipment, as well as some of the biggest names in additive manufacturing. But formnext isn’t just about hardware. It also includes many of the world’s largest materials companies, as well as firms who are focused on the software and business processes needed to drive industry 4.0.

Show Highlights

There is a vast amount of research going on across the industry. Through an initiative with the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing (ACAM), formnext has positioned itself as a focal point for industry collaboration. While providing attendees with more insight on the latest trends and developments, it also helps researchers better understand the needs of the community. The Managing Director of ACAM, Dr. Kristian Arnzt, noted recently that formnext provides, “a highly valuable international platform and an opportunity for us to engage in ongoing dialog with our industry” allowing ACAM to, “keep its ear even closer to the ground.”

While that alone makes formnext a “must attend” event, the conference is also focused on the practical side of manufacturing. Through another cooperation with the Excellence in Production competition (which presents the Tool-Maker of the Year award) formnext is helping to emphasize the central role industrial tool making plays in modern product development. Those who participate not only get a better feel for how they stack up to their competitors, they also receive a written evaluation that highlights their strengths and weaknesses. At a high level the contest provides a trove of actionable data that companies can leverage in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Other highlights at formnext include keynote speeches from some of the industry’s top luminaries and “showcases” that are niche specific. At the “AM Meets Aerospace” showcase, attendees will learn how additive manufacturing and modern product development are helping to drive innovation in the aerospace industry. The “Basic Materials” showcase will unveil new developments in materials for both conventional and additive production. It provide a compare different materials and how they impact both conventional and additive components in various industries.

HP’s Participation

HP is excited to join 3D printing and manufacturing thought leaders and innovators from around the world at formnext. In the HP booth, we’ll be sharing the latest developments in our Multi-Jet Fusion technology. Attendees will have a chance to learn more about the future of 3D printing with HP’s disruptive new technology. They’ll also be among the first to see HP’s Jet Fusion 3D printers in action.

Also, as announced earlier this year at RAPID, HP will offer an open platform for materials, giving third party suppliers a way to certify and sell materials for use with HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology. Several diverse materials providers were named in the original announcement.

Some of those companies will also be exhibiting at formnext. They include Arkema, Lehmann Voss and BASF. HP will be sharing more on the progress of its collaborations with material suppliers and will be making other exciting announcements regarding its plans for 3D printing.

Finally, HP’s VP of Market Development for 3D Printing, Scott Schiller will be speaking at formnext about 3D printing and how it can be a viable alternative to traditional production methods. This informative 20 minute session is scheduled to begin at 1:50PM on Tuesday, November 15th at stand K70.
