Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One: Get That Print “To Go”

Not that I’d expect to start scanning documents on my next cross-country flight, but during our latest press demo day, I was pretty taken with the HP Officejet 150. This petite all-in-one printer, on display in a mocked-up airplane seat, shows how a full-service printer can come with you – or just slip nice-and-easy into a tiny space in your home office. That’s the HP Officejet 150, for you.

HP Introduces a Slate for Businesses

doc.JPGHP’s slate has been a hot topic since it was demoed at CES 2010. I’m happy to announce it as the newest device in our business portfolio. And I’d like to spend a bit of time and text reviewing the winding road leading to today. The first videos of the slate showed a consumer product with functions like e-reading, video calling and media creation. And we talked about how it fit snuggly into a new category between cell phones and netbooks. We were bullish about the direction we were taking at the time, but an unanticipated development gave us an opportunity to refine our plans. When HP acquired Palm this year, we saw huge potential in webOS as the foundation for a whole ecosystem of connected consumer devices. We quickly realized that we had to include the slate in that equation.

Welcome Palm Employees & Community

palmcommunity Today, we’re excited to welcome the Palm team and its community of customers, developers and enthusiasts into the HP family. We've already talked about the tremendous opportunities that will come from marrying Palm's award-winning intellectual property with HP's scale and financial strength. You can imagine the potential impact of turning the billion people who already use HP products worldwide into fans of webOS phones and mobile systems. For me, what's equally exciting is the Palm team itself. Over the last couple of weeks, I've had the opportunity to personally meet a number of Palm employees.

HP’s Slate Device Delivers a Holistic Mobile Experience

slateteaser Up to now, we’ve given you only tiny glimpses of the HP slate device coming out later this year. You saw it first in a video we released during CES and most recently in videos demoing its Web experience and Adobe Flash and Air support. We’ve also blogged about the evolution of the slate category and our history in the space. So far, almost everything we’ve shared showcases how you’ll consume media with the device. And by media we mean all types of digital content, whether it’s a story from a major news outlet or videos and photos you’ve shot. But we also believe that media consumption is only half of the ideal mobile experience.
