Tales from The Next Bench: HP-95LX

hp-95lx How would you have liked to buy a computer that weighed less than the manual that came with it? That was the case with Code name Jaguar – AKA the HP-95LX, HP's first palmtop personal computer. I remember telling my parents that I was going to get a Jaguar and they thought I was getting a new car. Weighing 11 ounces and roughly the size of two checkbooks glued back-to-back (does anyone still remember what checkbooks look like?), the 95LX possessed as much computing power as a desktop personal computer system at the time. Despite PDAs still being dismissed as gimmicks, around the time that it launched, the HP-95LX created a bit of a buzz.
