I joined him on the LA leg of the Era of the Engineer tour so what you’re about to read are my questions – as well as some questions from current students that want to get in on being an audio engineer.

Young Guru, HP and the “Era of the Engineer”

Drop the name “Young Guru” on anyone plugged into the music community – they know this guy is the real deal. Often credited for being the keeper of “The Sound of New York,” he’s the audio engineer behind almost every Jay-Z album recorded. He’s collaborated to help refine the sounds on countless albums with other artists. What kind of insights do you get from working with some of the biggest artists out there? What technology makes all of this even possible?
