by Mark_Budgell ‎08-21-2011 07:47 PM - edited ‎09-06-2011 12:06 PM

UPDATE #3: Unfortunately, we have recently had to cancel some orders that were placed after 4am CT Monday, August 22nd on our SMB shopping page (different from our main consumer shopping site shopping.hp.com). Some cancellations have already been sent via email. The rest should be sent within the next 24 – 72 hours. Please note that no actual charges have been made and any reserve hold to your credit card will be released as soon as the order is cancelled. Please continue to subscribe to www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability for updates on TouchPad availability.

UPDATE #2: Technical issues are solved. You can now subscribe for updates via the "Notify Me" button at www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability.

UPDATE: Due to high traffic to the sign-up page, we've experienced some techincal issues with the sign-up link. We are repairing it and will provide an update shortly

This weekend, not long after HP announced some big changes to its business, we reduced the price of the HP TouchPad ($99 for the 16 BG version, $149 for the 32 GB version.) We have had a great response to the new price and are now temporarily out of stock of both devices on hp.com and at some local retailers.

The good news is that we will have more available shortly. If you’d like to be notified when these products are back in inventory please sign up at this site www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability. Thank you for your excitement for the TouchPad!

You provided a link to sign up but on the page you link to there is no signup form. Is that coming soon?

by Mark_Budgell on ‎08-22-2011 03:15 PM

@dudemonkey - see update above. we'll provide an update as soon as that link is fixed.

You have instructed your retailers to price match all TouchPad orders regardless of purchase date however Amazon refuses to do so.  Is there anything that can be done?

by coolpaddude on ‎08-23-2011 10:35 AM

Sign up link is still not fixed. There is no place on that link to enter name or email to signup. Any idea when it will be fixed?

by tritter9 on ‎08-26-2011 01:14 PM

I've submitted my email and other info a few times while people are continually picking them (Touchpads) up at retailers. Are you actually going to contact the people who pressed the 'notify me' button or not. Is it just a way to keep us from calling or posting?

It's amazing that a company as large as HP can't give information about an order placed over a week ago except to say 'admin' and the order info has been received. If they couldn't fulfill the orders that people placed, they should have taken down the order page. Most people that ordered it after me have received e-mails or even their products and HP hasn't tried to keep me in the loop of what is happening. Someone help...

is hp touchpad is back? can we preorder 1 now?

by sj on ‎09-02-2011 04:54 AM

I signed up for e-mail notification, but did not receive the e-mail notification mentioned in the q/a section in your more recent article. I want to make sure I'm on the notification list so I receive the messages. I attempted to sign-up again, but that link is no longer available. How can I verify that I'm on that on list?

re: Q: Will the notification/alert emails go out all at once so everyone has a fair shot?

All those who requested notification have been notified today that more are coming in the future, and will be notified again when more specifics are known.

by strawnut on ‎09-07-2011 05:29 PM
I clicked the link (http://www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability). But, the page automatically changed to (http://www.hp.com/united-states/webos/us/en/tablet/touchpad-availability.html?jumpid=ex_r11694_go_to... So I can't see the 'notify me' button. I hope to buy touchpad. I really need it!

I just want to know when and where I may purchase a TouchPad?

by tttwwsss on ‎10-01-2011 10:20 AM

Since day one of this whole sign up for notification, I have been trying.  Every time I have checked there is no way for me to sign up.  So is the notification deal going to be fixed before any are made available?  Because this is pretty damn frustrating that I have been trying to sign up for this since the begining and will most likely miss out now on a product that I was planing on getting before the price drop.

Where is the notify me button at www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability ?

I am getting e-mails from HP about all products except TouchPad (when it was on sale). I want to buy Touchpads for my kids - college students. I hope to buy TouchPads. I really need it! I hope I will be notified by HP about TouchPads.

by HP_is_deceptive on ‎10-29-2011 09:56 AM

HP is deceptive! They will sell the Touch Pad at local Best Buy. But there is a catch, you must buy a HP PC or Laptop before you get the Touchpad at 149.  I will never buy any HP products anymore, they are no good anyways compare to other brand. Canons make better printer and Apples make better laptops. Only reason I am interested in the Touch pad cause it is 149.  If I have to get stuck with a HP labtop, I rather not want the Touch Pad. Since August, HP led all of us on making us think they will email us and we will be able to buy the Touchpad straight up. SHAME ON YOUR HP! I will never buy another HP again. This leave a bad taste with HP and really destroys the HP brand

I'm in the market for a new laptop but with this deceptive company, I won't be buying it from HP. The non-working link. The many 'other products' emails. They won't give it to us straight.

Is any touchpad is coming to Canada or not?

Still nothing at bestbuy, walmart, future shop and tigerdirect...
