It wasn’t all that long ago (On February 9th, to be specific) HP announced the next big step in the HP vision for webOS. We finally lifted the veil to talk about the HP TouchPad tablet and two new phones, the HP Veer and HP Pre3. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m psyched to lay hands upon a TouchPad after playing with it during that event, but what got me really excited is seeing where webOS goes next. When we first talked about how the OS will live across devices – and even on PCs – a light bulb went off for me.
First, this could expand the definitions of what we consider “connected devices.” Second, I’m already envisioning how these devices will speed up data flow and keep everything in sync. Or synergy. Or whatever. But how will this affect your day-to-day life? Check out this quick youtube clip where Stephen DeWitt, the senior vice president and general manager of HP’s Personal Systems Group in the Americas, delves a little deeper to discusses HP’s webOS vision…and talk about some of the cool opportunities this platform could bring to developers.
As Stephen puts it, “your applications, your content, the things that are of value to you have to be presented to you on the right form factor, in the right place, at the right time. That, in essence, is what webOS is all about.”

I'm in the beginning of opening a photo business. I would love if I could put the SD card in my HP PC and have those photos almost instantly available to me on the TouchPad so I could sit down with the customers and review them. I would also love it if I oculd then place orders right from the TouchPad rather than having to manually enter them into the PC.
That is actually an awesome idea. Seeing Touch-to-Share got me thinking of all sorts of possibilities. While I'm in no position to speak about any master plan, I'd love to see something like what you're talking about.
And considering how platform developers can take advatange of webOS, I'm hoping to see several "head slap"-worthy apps (as in..."[Head slap!] Why the heck didn't I think of that?").
Are people still using alarm clocks? I thought their charging cellphones on the bedside replaced those, as they have wristwatches. And cameras. And MP3 players. And portable DVD players.
Single Palm profile for multiple webOS devices. More advanced profile managament tools, and option to share some of profile info's with others. Interconected web of webOS users, sharing data and content between each other. Some webOS form of Flicker, Facebook, Tweeeter and LinkedIn.
