Over
the course of 2010, DreamWorks
Animation
released three box office hits including “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Shrek
Forever After”
and “Megamind.” Releasing
three 3D films in a one year span is a first for DreamWorks and they credit
HP’s Z Workstations as a solid resource
for making this possible. And that is no small feat considering all the
computing horsepower that goes into creating these animated projects.
Last week, Videomaker agreed. The magazine recognized the HP Z400 Workstation for its awesome ability in helping filmmakers get their projects done, naming it the “Best Editing Computer” in its annual Best Video Products of the Year roundup. Videomaker notes that the Z400 can be tailored to meet individual needs at an affordable price, making it ideal for video editors that need a variety of customizations including specific types of CPUs, hard drives and graphics cards. The HP Z400 is designed with video editors in mind, packing in an Intel CPU and an Nvidia Quadro FX 3800 graphics to power through just about any task. The Z400 has two hard drives, giving video editors the possibility of running Windows programs while rendering.
