How would you celebrate the launch of a new operating system? Well, if you’ve got a ton of awesome new products to show off to people, you throw a party. This week, in New York City at Terminal 5, HP threw a big ol’ jam around “The Sound of Touch.” With all the growing excitement for Windows 8, we wanted to show off why we were excited. Want to see a life-sized laptop, Hip-Hop Group The Far East Movement….and a gang of new HP products….? Keep reading.
An incredible group of folks joined us this week at Terminal 5 in New York City for our celebration. More than 300 tech, entertainment, fashion and design influencers including folks from the Today Show, Huffington Post, Showbiz Tonight, Details, CNET, LAPTOP, Bloomberg, and more.
Our buddy, Arjan from arjanwrites.com, was also on-hand. You see, we also hosted an ARTIST#TALK as part of the event and The Far East Movement was more than happy to oblige. Everyone had a blast standing on the stage and hearing about the inspiration for their latest album. Hey, how often do us normal mortals get to be on stage at Terminal 5?? In the pic below, Arjan is actually manipulating the whole ambiance of the screens around the venue with a touch of a finger. How cool is that?
We created a waaaaay larger-than-life-sized version of the HP ENVY 4 (it’s not-quite-Ultrabook-sized as you can see from the pictures here). You’re also looking at some of the crowd, the sights…and how The Far East Movement rocked out a show for those attending.
Darren has spent a lot of time playing with – and writing about – HP’s Windows 8 computers. (Learn a more about them here.) Here’s a couple crowd shots of people playing with some of our new gear.
Well? Are you excited for what the world of touch will bring?
