Welcome to the new HP Envy community! Like the other communities on The Next Bench, we’ve started this as a place where people who share an interest in the Envy products can connect. We’re glad you’re here and hope you stick around.
It’s been a busy few weeks at HP, with the launch of a number of great products. We’ve featured a few of them on The Next Bench, but we haven’t officially talked about the new Envy 13 and Envy 15. In addition to welcoming you to the new Envy community, I thought this would be a good opportunity to fill you in on some of the specs.
As many of you know, we’re proud of the Voodoo Envy 133. The notebook is a slick and beautiful piece of work, which has been recognized with a number of design awards. Everything about the system, from the elegant package to the glossy flushed glass screen, was designed to provide an unforgettable experience. Though the system is now retired, fans of the Voodoo Envy 133 will be pleased to know that the breakthrough engineering has influenced other products in the company, and the Envy 13 and Envy 15 build on the Voodoo Envy’s exceptional heritage.
The Voodoo team’s contributions continue to push the limits of innovation at HP. The objective of the Voodoo Envy 133 was to redefine the ultra mobile space and form factor. With extreme engineering and design, they found carbon fiber to be a breakthrough material. New materials were to answer the question: how do I make something thinner, lighter and stronger? For the new Envy systems, the team found the answer in a blend of aluminum and magnesium metals. The combination creates a sturdy chassis, infused with a bronze color for a rich, warm and inviting experience.
Of course, there’s a lot more to a premium system than just good looks and a slim figure. Lately, a lot of companies have focused all of their efforts to achieve the thinnest form factor possible. In the process, they lost sight of other things that are vitally important. With the Envy 13 and Envy 15, as well as other newest HP products such as the HP ProBook 5310 and HP Pavilion dm3 – there is no sacrifice of performance for style.
While there is a trend is to seal batteries in, we designed a slick ultra-high capacity extended battery. This battery slice extends the power for up to 18 hours on the Envy 13. The Envy 15’s versatile storage options include the ability to add two solid-state drives in RAID 0 configurations, providing excellent disk performance. Power users will be pleased to know that the svelte Envy 15 is packed with the Intel’s next generation Core i7 processor and up to 16 gigabytes of DDR3 system memory. The super thin and light HD Radiance display delivers vivid color quality, exceptional brightness, and a wide viewing angle that makes it one of the world’s best notebook displays.
