HP Technology…FROM THE FUTURE!

No, I’m not going to be a toolbox and pretend that I just came back from the future. BUT, do you wanna get a glimpse at the conceptual computers that we’ll be making in…say….10 years when robots are beating the bolts out of each other? Then check out some of this near-future gear that we envisioned for the upcoming movie, Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman.

“The ThruScreen”
What? You think that the super-slim LED-backlit displays we have now are sweet? How about thin-film technology that makes the screen completely clear? If this tech comes soon, I want it installed on my car’s windshield. (And while I’m dreaming, I’ll need a health meter and targeting system on-screen for my drive).

“The VolumeJet”
Don’t settle for printing up your images on a piece of paper (Sooooo 20th Century!) when you can use this to create 3D reproductions of what you’re seeing on-screen. As in printing up a gear you might need. I mean, I feel like we’re edging closer to this future when I see stuff like the new TopShot printer that can take images of 3D objects on the scanner bed.

 “The Curve”
If you thought all-in-one computers like the TouchSmart 520 looked cool, wait til you get a load of this cool, curvy design. Notice the stylus interface pen that sits on the side of the computer. I guess it’s for when you want to draw on-screen, sign your digital John Hancock….Me? I'd try playing Starcraft II on this guy.

“The Flex”

You know how I’ve been making such a big deal about the Pavilion dm1 and how that tiny laptop could do so much while being so small? Yeah, well, I’m gonna shut the heck up now. The Flex is used to control one of the major RoboRocky-wannabes in the movie. (And I wouldn’t mind having one as well. I need to work on that.)

How do I know all this tech is legit? "Research" on location....in the truck used in the movie.
