A warm weather venue is always welcome for conferences that bring together present and future customers, a wealth of information and plenty of fun. Phoenix, Arizona did not disappoint with the co-events of Jetcomm, HP’s inkjet user group and Dscoop, HP’s technology users across all platforms. For many of HP’s customers who own inkjet and HP Indigo or HP Latex devices, this venue offered the ability to touch all of the technologies in one place over the course of four full days.

Starting mid-day on Tuesday, Jetcomm kicked off with HP PageWide GM Eric Wiesner’s state of the union for HP’s PageWide Industrial business. Thanking the audience for their continued strong support, Eric shared that HP’s PageWide Industrial customers have printed an aggregate of over 210 billion commercial pages since 2008. This represents a run rate of over 5 billion pages printed per month.

Eric also explained why the PageWide Web Press division has become the PageWide Industrial division, which now encompasses the High Volume Commercial platforms, Corrugated Packaging and Sign & Display. The drumbeat of innovation continues and as was first announced in February at Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne, Switzerland, the HP PageWide T 235HD was also brought to the forefront at Jetcomm.

For the remainder of Wednesday afternoon and all of Thursday, Jetcomm participants shared in the knowledge of industry experts and real-life business experiences from their peers. They also interacted with media, software, hardware and peripheral partners, giving them an opportunity to get some hands-on experience with Indigo and Scitex equipment in the Imagine Technology Showcase.

Jetcomm, specifically addressed the interests of HP’s high-speed inkjet user community offering sessions with two tracks, one geared towards business leadership, development and innovation and the second focused on operational efficiencies. Whether one was interested in business building ideas or in best-practices for file preparation, there was something for everyone.

Wednesday evening's dinner at the Renaissance on the outdoor deck embraced the coolness of night desert and was filled with music, cards, excellent Southwest cuisine, and magical talent. The opportunity to share in this special community network linked through the power of inkjet printing is never forgotten.
