Blogmaster's note: Special thanks to HP's Chris Echevarria for this report from Inkjet Summit 2017.

Every April for the past five years the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Florida has become the gathering grounds for those selling, supporting and evangelizing about high speed production inkjet to share with those still pondering their possible next move into this inkjet space.

Organized and managed by nGage Events and NAPCO Media, this yearly by-invitation-only event brings together key influencers and decision makers from companies considering a move into inkjet technology together with the entire value chain of corporate sponsors who represent the industry; software, hardware, and media.

This networking, case study, best practices and one-on-one speed Q&A with vendors of the industry, offers a unique venue and tremendous opportunity for all those still wondering if this is the “right” time to get into production inkjet to get their questions answered. As a sponsor for this event, HP is introduced to potential customers who receive the information they need to understand how high speed inkjet can impact their business. .

HP PageWide Industrial GM Eric Weisner addressing the audience at Inkjet Summit 2017(1).jpgThe event started on Monday evening with a keynote address by Marco Boer telling the audience about the 10 year journey that inkjet has made so far. This was followed with a keynote speech by Robin Welch, Chairman of GI Solutions, an HP customer who explained how his inkjet journey has grown his company and tripling his revenues. The first evening ended with a panel of inkjet manufacturers including HP’s PWI GM, Eric Wiesner, explaining how inkjet technology is continuing to shape and change the printing industry.

Two of our favorite engagements from this inkjet venue are the case studies and one-on-ones. Organized by segment; publishing, transactional, direct mail, in-plant and commercial print, the case studies allow sponsors to bring their customers, either in the flesh or virtually, for a 25 minute presentation where they share how their business was effected by their particular inkjet solution.

With a set case study format of identifying the challenge, proposing the solution and then sharing the results, attendees are able to see how their own company can follow those who have already taken the plunge into inkjet and shared their success stories.

Firsthand experience from those who have been on the front lines is what makes this forum so very special and so very real. The one-on-ones offer a quick twenty minute introduction for the sponsoring companies to share additional information, samples and an exchange business cards. This engagement allows each party to recognize what they need to move forwards and building their inkjet business.

Organized evening events like casino and awards night help carry the conversations from the conference rooms out onto the golf course, to the beach’s edge, or at the bar. The venue definitely incorporates the right amount of fun and activity to meet everyone’s expectations while building new contacts and relationships.

If you did not make it to this year's event - we sure hope to see you there next year!
