Okie so my Omen is over heating... I check the front radiator and like all PC's it gets full of dust even in the cleanest of envirnoments. What to do? Well it's a big honkin desktop case so it shouldn't be that hard to get at right? I mean it is responsible for cooling the PC but wait I... just... can't... reach... fingers.... too short. Okie, on to plan B. I'll take the side off. Hrmmm, still pretty tight. OUCH! Thats sharp! Hrmmm, plan C. Let's take the other side off. Okie time to grumble. (Grumble Grumble) There are thumb nuts attaching the radiator to the frame I wonder if I... there last one. A bit more room.
A long story short, I used a generic vacuum to get most of the dust but it was hard to get at. I think a simple case modification that would not compromise style could be added with a simple front detachable or hinged plate could allow the user to clean the radiator easier. What do you guys think?

i once heard, duct tape a straw to your vaccuum cleaner nozzle... that way, you can squeeze it all over the case... especially one of them's flex straws... and also it should increase the suction...
adding filters may make the cleanup easier... but you may hinder air flow and performance...
but i hear stockings make good filters...

One of the first things we do with almost every system that comes through for service is clean out the dust bunnies.
Compressed air through the front of the rad blows it all out, then the rest of the case is easy to get at. We don't use a vacuum though since we have our old paint booth still. The back wall is a giant vacuum anyway, so compressed air and let it all float away into the filters.
You can do similar by taking your system outside and using a can of compressed air (could be VERY messy to try it indoors).

i usually like to keep a vaccuum running when i use canned airs...
some radiators have very dense fins... i hate those radiators... i like the ones thats looser...
anywhoo, Driftwood, are the Omen's with fans in front of radiator blowing air or fan behind the radiators?

Make sure that if you are using compressed air you only blow it in one direction as you go through the case as in:

If you you go back and forth like below, all your going to do is blow the dust around the case rather then push it out, which would be a complete waste of compressed air and time.
